She made it

Thanks for your well wishes and prayers.

Mom made it to New York last Sunday the 3rd. She stopped every night at a pet friendly hotel and called my brother and I along the way every so often with her location. She'd tell us how long she'd been driving and the exit she just passed and how many miles to the next city. That way we could have a good idea of where she was in case something happened and we needed to send help.

My brother gets to hold onto her until April 17th.....the day the moving truck arrives!

Yep.....Bekins Moving Company. They dropped the ball.....BIG TIME!

The whole time she'd been calling this week to see where the truck was and if it would make it by Thursday the 7th....the contracturally agreed last delivery day....they'd been telling her the driver would call her.

They finally fessed up today and admitted the truck was still here in California and that it couldn't go across country until it was full. Supposedly it's in San Diego loading the final load, then will make it's way to NY.

Nice, huh?!

The whole reason she chose them was because in 1987 when we moved to California, they were the company my parents used and she was loyal. So much for loyalty.

AND...... they want her to pay the bill before she gets her furniture!!!! What the??!! SERIOUSLY????

Oh, but they will refund her up to $125 per day from yesterday.....only since she's not staying at a hotel, it won't be the $125. She'll have to show receipts for what she spends (groceries, restaurants, etc.) and then they'll assess it and decide how much they'll refund.

Bad business relations......poor customer service.....truth avoidance......and greed.

I SAY BOYCOTT BEKINS MOVING COMPANY

Use these companies instead......Mom probably wishes she did!
