Special Night

This is a first........Dad took Jessi to the Father daughter Dance tonight. Big sis didn't want to go, so it was just these two.

Ain't they purty!? The dog was trying to sniff the corsage in the picture above, see her little nosey nose?

Jessi didn't quite understand why she was getting something flowery to put on her wrist. She commented on how it would fall off while dancing. That's code for 'thanks, but I don't think so'. Such a tomboy.
But she dressed it up! Check out those heels.....it's all she can do to not stare at them. It caused quite an uproar with the older one, claiming she never got heals at that age. Geez. Shoot me.

And here's proof I did her hair. Well, attempted anyway. She does not know how to be still. Unless she's asleep. So I tried my best and tied a bow and was done. She liked it. although she took the liberty to redo her bangs, not bad though.

Not only is this a big night for all the girls at her school, but here as well.
You see, the one who hardly ever takes care of her diabetes just left with her for 4 hours. GULP. But she was 170 and I had her eat a fruit snack carb of 13 with no bolus to tied her over until dinner at 6:30. There's a mini backpack with them that's filled with low juice and drinkable juice in case there's no diet drinks, glucose tablets, glucagon, and the meter. They have orders to check before dinner, unless feeling low beforehand, eat, then call with the number and the food eaten and I'll walk them through the dosing on the Ping.

Hey....at least I get a physical break from them! But remember I said the one who hardly ever takes care of her diabetes.....he's trying.....crash course tonight! Not to mention he's not a social guy. He's being forced into car pooling with her best friend (him being the driver) and mingling with the husbands of my friends and then some. Talk about coming out of your shell! (more like being pulled out of your shell) hahaha!
Holy Hilarious!!! As I'm typing, he called to ask about pictures, then hung up and his phone called me back and he has no idea! I can hear everything! This is classic! The dads are chatting nervously and I can hear the photographer taking pictures. Laughter, talk about the wives....I can hear you!!!! This is so blackmail material!!!

I'm sure I'll hang up in a bit........what a doofus! Touch screen phones are tricky little boogers. Wait'll he figures it out....then they'll really have something to talk about tonight!!!

There's the DJ!!!

Duuuude!!!! check yer phone! And to think I was worried about tonight!!!

Ooooh soccer talk. Grass vs. Astroturf.

Hope his battery doesn't die!

Ha! He just hung up!

.......and called me back.

Jessi's already giving him a hard time about not drinking the lemonade. He didn't sound thrilled. I told him the phone's been on for the last 10 min. and I could hear them and he was like 'whatever'. Snot.

But hey, he's sitting with my best friends' husbands and getting to know them better and he's really dealing with a huge comfort zone thing right now, so I gotta give him credit.
I just hope Jessi won't push her limits there. She's already doing it with the drink. I should've changed her basal for the few hours.........dummy........but running a bit high tonight will be ok in light of the evening and bravery on Dad's part.

Was it too much to think of diet drinks chairperson? She must've watched Oprah yesterday. Sigh.

What FANTASTIC pictures!!!! Handsome hubby you have there ;)

This will be a special memory for both of them. Fathers are so important to daughters...I don't even think they realize just how much.

Good for him for taking the plunge and good for you for letting him have a go at it.

God bless all of you :)
