HOLY MOLY HAVE I BEEN GONE ALONG TIME!
Been keeping up a little bit with everyone on Facebook, but even that is dwindling. The computer has sucked enough out of me lately! Life sometimes happens faster and harder than you think. Story of all ours lives, right?
We are now parents of a 16 year old Sophomore who has a boyfriend. Doesn't hang out with him much outside of school, and that's how we like it. Nice polite boy, Christian upbringing, Honor student, water polo/baseball player, great parents.....but they have limited time together, plenty of time in the future for that kinda thing, she's still a kid. And the other parents are in agreement. (insert sigh of relief!)
Jessi is 11 and in 6th grade this year. Where has the time gone? It's an interesting year filled with girl drama, behavior issues...mostly sassing, no boyfriend (have to be 16) or interest in a boy at this point, and really good grades. Still working on fashion, but she's a tomboy true and true. She's playing Spring Select Soccer right now, the regular season is over and she was picked up by a 'B' team to continue playing locally through July. It's kinda like club soccer....only a sliver of the cost, works for me!
Celebrated 17 years of marriage this last October.....he STILL keeps stalking me. I guess I'll keep him, gotta give him props for perseverance! Outside of normal crap that goes on in a marriage and in life, we're making it through-maybe not with flying colors, but it's work, right?
Gained an animal member last August on Jes' birthday....Mr. Mc Gee the guinea pig. He's about 8 months old now and sweet and friendly as heck. Me and the teenager are allergic to his hay, but as long as she doesn't touch the cage or hay, she's good, and I can tolerate the little guy for as long as it takes...I suppose. Since he is mine really.....classic story of "I'll take care of it" and we all know where that leads down the road....so like I said, my guinea pig. :)
Coming up on 10 years March 1st for Jessi's diagnosis. Not much else to say about that, we all know how that day goes and those days leading up to it. Me and diabetes are not friends anymore, that's for sure! And that's about all I'm willing to say without becoming a censored blog post! (detect the hostility there?) That's a whole other post.....But she's alive and well with no serious issues to report, so I'll take it!
So......can't say when I'll pop in again, but I hope you and your families all are well and riding along with your lives just fine, with or without diabetes. Catch ya on the flip side!
