When I say "I am a Christian"....
...I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin". I'm whispering "I was lost, now I'm found and forgiven".
...I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
...I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
...I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
...I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I'm worth it.
...I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of headaches, so I call upon His name.
...I'm not holier than thou. I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

He was finally admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and actually came home today. We went to see him today and he is doing great! He is figuring out his carbs and doing the division for his units AND he is giving himself the shots (he is using a pen). Thankfully, they now start them on Lantus, unlike Cale who had to wait 3 months to get on it. The mom is still freaked out about screwing up, but I tell you, his dad is a rock and totally on top of it. He was ready to take him fishing today if he could!!!
That's so sad to hear that he was diagnosed......but sounds like things are so far so good for them. They're lucky to have you as a friend and neighbor!
The irony is, now sleepovers and babysitting will be easier for the two families, you can rely on eachother for those.
