Yep.....it's come to visit and it chose to stay in Ashlee's lungs. Poor thing.
She's had a fever on and off since last Wednesday and a cough for about 3 weeks. We summed up her cough to her asthma acting up back then and just used her nebulizer and prednisone. She got better with her breathing, but I guess that wasn't the problem.
We were fortunate enough to see a great lady doctor yesturday at the urgent care clinic who took a long time listening to her lungs. The kind of long time where you think..."ok already, what's going on?" She heard crackling in Ash's lungs, and I swear I heard it once or twice as she was breathing for the doctor. So now we get to pump her up with 2000 mg a day of amoxicillan (sp?) and she's off school until Thursday, providing she feels better.
I think she's feeling better already because she knows she's off school. But she's acting fine. She gets tired easily and has coughing spells, but she's still up and about and playing and stuff.
I should have known something was wrong last week when she was in bed before 8 three days in a row. My kids don't go to bed that early for nothin'!
So I can thank the kids in her classroom who were coughing in her face and probably not washing their hands for the last few weeks. (maybe I should send her back to school to do the same right now...just for principal) Hopefully no one else around here will get sick, though Jessi is coughing. Or maybe we notice it because of Ashlee. paranoia
