Have you heard? It's been a few weeks, but did you hear it? Pluto is no longer considered a planet!???? The info I have is made up of bits and pieces. I read it's too far out in the galaxy; something about the atmosphere and surrounding areas; that the word "pluto" has devil/evil references; that it's make up doesn't constitute planet material.....
I thought they researched extensively before they made conclusions like these. After all, that's what they did when they originally named it a planet, right?
What in the world are they going to do with ALL those textbooks and library books? Reprint? I think not. What about the lessons in school and what ever will become of the planet projects, you know, the ones with the hanging spheres each representing a planet?!? Pluto just gets tossed aside? Unincluded? Oh my, Blues Clues will need to rewrite some songs!
If I were an astronomer I'd be upset! Shoot, I'm not one and I'm bothered by this anouncement!
How does this change space? If Pluto's not a planet, then what is it really? And how could the powers that be make such a HUGE mistake about it?
That got me thinking...
If we can just erase the existence of a planet, what else can we erase? It proves we can certainly change our minds about what's what.
So, lets say we change our minds about our country's leadership. Not with an election....but just altogether veto the idea. The leaders just don't have the right composition to be leaders......next.
Oh, yeah, money's no longer needed either. Composition not right. They keep changing it anyway to stop counterfitters.
Ben Franklin.......not really electricity! Just some sort of energy with a little "zap" to it.
What about Frued? Come on, you didin't really fall for the edipus theory did you?! There's definately the wrong compositions there!
What about Disney? Are they going to follow suit and rename Mickey's dog?
Think I'm being rediculous? Then you get a clear picture of how I feel about the "de-naming" of a planet that everyone prior to 2006 learned in schools. I find this just really sad.
