Mom put Pearl down yesterday.
Dog had bone cancer too. Her back leg closest to you in the picture had a tumor the size of a tennis ball. The cancer had spread all the way up her leg and was fully into the thigh and heading up.
She'd been bleeding from the tumor area since Saturday and all they could do for her was wrap it, mom would have to continually rewrap it and it was never going to heal therefore causing bleeding out. She might have amputated previously when she found out about the cancer (goes for Bailey too) but she decided not to put the dog (s) through that. It could've been an option yesterday, but the aftercare would have been extrememly consuming and who knows how long that would have bought her with the cancer spreading fast.
I feel really sad for my mom, 2 dogs four days apart...........now she only has one dog. I'm sure not for long, but at least for right now.
