Well, Easter was quiet. Nice and quiet.
The kids got up and did the bunny thing. The easter bunny hides all the goodies around the house and the girls go and hunt for their things. James thinks this is weird....every easter we discuss this....he used to hunt for real eggs outside and for his basket full of goodies....I think this is weird. How does it go in your house? How'd it go in your childhood?
If we hunted for eggs outside, the dogs would beat us to it if not eat the eggs before they're found. I'm not thrilled about forgetting where they are and smelling them later. (mom, did ya fart?) Besides, the easter bunny doesn't hide things in the bathroom....that's gross.
After the morning, we headed off to church for 12 o'clock service. Boy was it crowded! The traffic of the service before was leaving and the noon service traffic was arriving. Mind you, we live in walking distance from church, literally a 5 minute walk if that. But we drove....how lazy are we!? We usually go to Wed. night service so we were not ready for all these people. We had to keep in mind that there were a lot of people who showed up just because it was Easter. You know, the Easter/Christmas crowd. But hey, they came to church, that's a step. (keep stepping people)
After church we got lunch and came back home and chilled the rest of the day. It was a nice family day. Just the 4 of us. And we decided that we should try Sunday service from now on. It won't interfere with the kids' school the next morning and we could go out to eat as a family after and focus on just us for a change.
I hope your Easter was a good day as well. Thanks Lauren for the Easter card!
My mom's going to Illinois this upcoming weekend, so enjoy her visit! I'm busy counting down to June!
